Sax and the City

I can’t remember the last time I raised my hand to play in a gig, or as what Sandy (director of Sax-And-The-City) would call it – adventure. I think it was when the Blacktown Community Band came around in Christmas 2007 to carol at our home. My “Mary Kate” (that’s my alto sax) was sitting… Read More ›

Family Group Photo

A loss in the family also brings out the occasion for family members to come together. This photo is taken just outside the home of the Anada Family in Calgary – 27 July 2009. From Left-to-Right at the back are: Rove ‘the Popular’ Laroco, Auntie Beth ‘Jet-setter’ Macaraeg, Airee ‘Korean Doll’ Pascual, Dennis Retuntar ,… Read More ›

Twins and Jess to White Castle

After a year of saving up, losing her job, finding another, working ’til late after school and taking the late train home. And now they made it. The Twins and Jess have been eating 30 burgers at the White Castle and enjoying the site of New York City. Here are their preliminary photos.

Mini-Reunion in Sydney

09-May-2009: Mixed feelings of anxiety but mainly of excitement were in the air with the impending mini reunion of five 1979 Holy Family Academy high school batchmates. Menchie (Maicle- Castro), Cynthia (Baron-Cunanan), Wilma (Bravo-Palor), Michelle (Micu-Velasquez) and I had a mini-reunion in Sydney, Australia.

Living Room

After 3 weekends of painting, the house is beginning to feel like a brand new home. You could feel the anticipation in the family – everyone is putting in their time on this project. Celine has taken Saturday off her work and devoted the morning cleaning up and doing regular chores that were falling behind…. Read More ›

Photo Shoot

For the “Australia Day” long weekend, we went to the Illawarra Fly Tree Top Walk in Knights Hill, NSW. This new tourist attraction opened last year in March 2008. Its main feature is a 500m walk bridge nestled amongst the trees and provides spectacular views of the Illawarra Region. Here are my choice shots for the day.

Graham and Clarina

When parents envision their children getting married, they are wishing for a wedding like Graham and Clarina’s. Both of them are in their late twenties, have stable and productive jobs, well travelled, with good education. They had a good six years of friendship before they tied the knot. They seem to have done everything by… Read More ›

Happy Holidays (2008)

For a few years, way back when – we use to publish a “Pascual Family News”. It was our way of keeping in touch with the family as we were taken ashore in a remote region called AUSTRALIA, where the closest sibling is around 1000km away.

Our First City-to-Surf

Early this year – Jeanne registered us to the City-To-Surf, a 14km marathon from Hyde Park in Sydney to Bondi Beach. We are not runners and not that athletic, so I though she’s crazy to get us into it. I’m a self-confessed couch potato, with a burst of guilt physical activity thrown in every now… Read More ›

Aussie Girls in Wal Mart

Celine and Linda are currently attending a Harry Potter convention in Chicago – a goal they set last year. Celine saved every dollar she earned to pay for her trip. I’m very proud of her as she is enjoying every bit of her young life with good friends to share the time and excitement. They arrived in Illinois early. They stayed in Tito Emil’s and also at Tita Vangie’s home. I’m sure Celine will bring home gigabytes of photos but for now – here’s a shot shared by Tita Vangie as the girls visit an American icon – the Walmart store.
