On My Honour
Created: 18 April 1998, Oakhurst NSW - Australia

Scouting has always been close to my heart. Now, as a family we are part of the movement. We are proud members of the First North Mount Druitt Scout Group. There are about 20 cub scouts in our group, led by our "Akela" - Lara Bravo. My scout name is "Iago" the story teller. Every Cub Scout leader has a Jungle Book name which makes it easy for the cub scout to remember your name. To Celine and Jess - I'm dad, but with my uniform on, I become Iago their cub scout leader. We play and learn together.
The highest award given to a Cub Scout is the Yellow Cord. Here is Celine receiving her Yellow Cord after a series of tests, projects and a 2-day training camp. Presenting it to her is Harry Anderson, the group leader of the First North Mount Druitt Scout Group. Celine will wear the cord as part of her uniform as she move up to the scout.
To become a Cub Scout leader, a warrant is required. This is conducted by the Scout Association of Australia in cooperation with the appropriate authorities. Here I am during my investiture - my formal acceptance into the association as an Assistant Cub Scout Leader.
