Papang

Majalyn-Rose or “Papang” as she is fondly called by her family is the second daughter of Engr. Ulysses Talavera and Ms. Soccoro Calpito. She was raised in Philex Mines, Benguet Mountain Province. Her geneaology dating as far back as the 1880 is chronicled in our family tree.

Majalyn has always been a top achiever in school. She graduated salutatorian in Primary School. Then graduated with valedictorian honours in High School. She attended her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) at Saint Louis University – Baguio City. This university is well known in the Philippines for producing top level engineering graduates.

BS Mechanical Engineering is traditionally a male dominated discipline. Our Majalyn showed not only that she had the capability to survive the course, she also had what it takes to excel on it. Majalyn was a consistent Dean’s lister, an honour denoting that she has always been a top ten student of the College of Engineering and Architecture. She graduated with medal in Academic Excellence.

As a student, she represented the college in quiz shows both in local and national competitions. Being no doubt as a beauty and brain, she was crowned as Miss Engineering and Architecture.

This page is a tribute to her from her family and friends around the globe. Our most heartfelt congratulations to her most recent achievements. Majalyn-Rose placed number 5 with a rating of 88.6% out of the 2,984 examinees in the Mechanical Engineering Licensure Exam given by the Professional Lincensing Board of the Philippines.

Majalyn-Rose is now married to an equally successful Mechanical Engineer Aris Datuin and are blessed with their first son Jynariz.
