The following images were taken sometime on the fourth week of March 1996. The land was cut and filled in preparation for the concrete slab to be placed. This new subdivision is in the border of Glendenning and Oakhurst, here in New South Wales – Australia. The area is in the corner of Rooty Hill Road – North and Simms Road.
To get into Ahmet Court, take the turn to Yalkin Road off Simms Road. The Sydney UBD Street Directory of 1995 and 1996 still had the proposed name of “CoralGum Place” in its map. Ahmet and Yalkin are the original owners of this estate which is now subdivided into over 20 individual properties.
Here’s a glimpse of the new suburb we soon will be calling home. Celine and Jessica are standing on what would be the Master’s Bedroom. On the background is a newly built two-storey home located on the entrance of the cul de sac. Note that our house would actually be sitting at the highest point of all adjoining properties. Although we are in Ahmet Court, our place was fomerly owned by the elder brother Yalkin Shevket. Ahmet and his family lives in a huge 2-storey home within the compound. They are a very lovely and friendly family.
Our home has four neighbours, on our right are Jimmy and Lilibeth del Rosario, a newly wed couple. On our left is Jojo and Diana Moquera. Both of these families are Filipinos. Our North-Western neighbour is a huge nursery owned by John Cremona and our North-Eastern neighbour is the family of James Wong, formerly from Hong Kong. (Gee Whiz that rhymed 🙂 Wong – Hong Kong – get it 🙂
Supergirl Celine carries her sister in what would be our future garage. At the background is the home of our friendly neighbour Jojo and Diana. They have three kids of their own and had recently moved in. Their house, as like the majority of house built around us were designed and built by A.V. Jennings. Our house will be built by another famous Australian home builder called Beechwood Homes.
