 Taon-taon, paganda ng paganda ang paputok sa Sydney Harbour. Mantakin mo ba naman na apat na milyong dolyar ang pinapasabog sa pagsapit ng bagong taon. Pero sabi nila – mura na ito dahil sa dagsa ng mga tao na nanonood ay kumikita naman ang siudad ng higit pa sa apat na put milyong dolyar.Kung minsan, ang sabi-sabi ng iba – sayang ang pera na nauubos lamang sa panangdaliang palabas – ngunit sayang nga ba? Kahit pa mabuhay ang tao ng isang-daang taon – mabibilang lang ang pagkakataon na makakaranas ng ganitong uri ng palabas para sa mga masa. Kung dumating man ang araw na mawawala na ito, tayong nakasaksi ay makakagunita at sasariwain ang mga araw na ito.
Masaya ang pagdating ng bagong taon – ngunit nalulungkot pa rin ako dahil may malapit sa akin na humaharap sa isang malaking pagsubok. Ang nakakabata kung kapatid ay lumulusong sa di tiyak na kinabukasan, ang kanyang kapareha sa buhay ay may lubhang dinaramdam. Kanser ang kalaban – di na kailangan pang ipaliwanag kung ano ang kanilang pinapasan ngayon.Harinawa ay may pag-asa pa ang aking bayaw. Hindi ako reliyohso ngunit sa pag-kakataon na ito – alam ko na ang panalanig lamang ng aking kapatid ang nagbibigay lakas sa kanya. Bagong taon na naman – bagong pagsubok – at sa akin, bago din ang trabaho. Sana kagaya ng mga paputok na sumalubong sa bagong taon makapagbigay tayo ng kasiyahan sa isa’t-isa kahit na panandalian lamang. |
2007 is a year that I am glad to see go away. From the first week of January up to the last few days of December of that year seemed like an eternity of unfavorable situations. I could not believe how we got through them. Sabi ko sa sarili ko, sana merong parang Sydney Harbor na nagpa-ginhawa ng pag-dating ng 2008 dito sa Pinas.
We all live in borrowed times and borrowed moments; God gave us the breath of life and the privilege to live and enjoy His love, and the love of our families and friends.
Lahat tayo dadanas ng mga pagsubok, yung storm sa buhay natin, depende sa atin kung pano natin haharapin ito, or magtatampisaw tayo sa ulan. Basta ako, I do believe in miracles. Yung magising na lang tayo sa umaga eh miracle na yun para sa kin, dahil may mga hindi na nagigising, di ba? Basta don’t forget to pray and you’ll know what miracle is… in His time…

We look forward to a better, healthier and joyful 2008. With the advance technology of medicine and the powerful prayers for miracles, we are confident, Levs and all of us, will be in one to surpass all these trials with flying colors. Do not despair, everything will be good. Art will be in the best of health once the treatment is over.

I cannot find words to comfort you and your family, especially Levs. Things happen for a reason and whether we can grasp the meaning now or in the future, it is comforting enough to realize that God has made us so to be able to cope with even the most devastating tragedies in life. Life goes on and the best thing now is to collectively pray for your loved one… as what you say is true, faith or pananalig is the one thing that helps keep man whole in times of adversity.
May we all have a happy new year ahead and be blessed by our dear Creator always!!!

We are so thankful to the Lord God Almighty for giving us godly people who are always there for us, giving encouragements and prayers. The peace that passeth all understanding comes from the Lord Jesus Christ and that always comfort us in times of trials and test in life.
